The industry needs strength in numbers to overcome the amount of supporters.
You must register in order to testify by phone. Please DO NOT call until the item you want to speak about is being discussed.
My name is and I provide rental housing in .
As a San Diego rental housing provider and taxpayer, I strongly urge you to vote NO on the eviction moratorium.
The proposed no-fault eviction moratorium will have significant negative impacts on owner's moving into their own property, property improvements, redevelopment into higher density, and exiting the market.
The eviction ban is being extended to tenants not actually affected by COVID-19. There is no rational basis to implement a blanket no-fault eviction ban, especially if a tenant has not applied for rental assistance. Everyday life in San Diego is functioning as if it were pre-pandemic. With the unemployment rate back to 4% and full vaccinations at 82.3%, people are going to work, and kids are going to school.
I strongly encourage you to vote NO on the proposed no-fault eviction moratorium, Item 200.
